Dark Mofo, MONA's winter solstice festival, now in its sixth year, drowns the streets red, hot and heavy with its excessive, indulgent and indescribable howls for the debaucherous, extraordinary and macabre.

It is a festival that cannot be described, but rather needs to be felt. I left my sensibilities back in Melbourne and immersed myself in the infectious, anything-can-be-tried spirit of the Dark Mofo team.

In 2018, we evolved the website into a progressive web app and added functional items such as a planner, Mapbox-connected interactive map, offline mode, satanic-inspired icon font and a drunk mode.
